Trisha becomes bold!

No this one is not about Trisha's onscreen appearances. We don't think she lacked courage to do something offbeat and unusual on the screen. This one is about her offscreen life.

When she made her debut in films and for quite some time after that, Trisha always made it a point to go to the sets accompanied by her mom. It took her a while to get rid of that habit.

Her mother is very proud of the fact that her daughter has worked up courage to go to even outdoor shootings by herself. "There was a time when she was afraid even of insects. But it is nice to know that she is bold enough to stand on her own legs," her parents say.

Trisha seems to be more interested in Tamil films these days. She is starring in 'Bheema' with Vikram and also as 'Sathyam' with Vishaal.

Allu Arjun brings Bhavana to Tollywood

Until now, only Nagarjuna had managed to create a good fan following for himself in the state that is also known as God's own country. But these days, Allu Arjun seems to have made a pretty good impression in the state.

The dubbed version of his 'Arya' has become very popular in Kerala.

It's probably sheer coincidence or a brilliant marketing strategy that his new film in Telugu now stars Bhavana, a popular heroine in Malayalam and Tamil. The idea probably is to capitalize on her popularity in Malayalam. That would give another opportunity for Allu Arjun to strengthen his newly created fan base in the state.

Her role in the film is not confirmed yet.

Dil Raju is the producer of this film.

Meera Jasmine returns...

Critics who saw 'Maharadhi' couldn't help but remark about the growing girth of Meera Jasmine and how odd it looked, especially in a film industry that loves slim and glamorous heroines. But that hasn't pushed Meera Jasmine into losing weight.

Ironically, that also hasn't stopped offers from coming to her.

She is now going to be the heroine of the new film from director Shrinivasa Reddy's 'Yamagola..Malli Modalayindi'. Shrikanth and Venu are playing the male leads. The film also has a second heroine. So, maybe she'll be taking charge of the glamour department.

Frames Entertainment is producing the film.

Meera Jasmine had received mixed reactions from her fans and critics alike for her role in the new Tamil film 'Thirumagan'. It turns out that another heroine had rejected the role because she wasn't comfortable with doing those "close" scenes with the hero. Meera Jasmine, who projects herself as an actress with strictly "No" policy towards glamour, had no problems starring in the scenes though!

Strange!

'Sri Mahalakshmi' to hit screen on May 22

The shooting of 'Sri Mahalakshmi' directed by Vijayan and produced by Smt R Santi Srihari on the banner of Sri Chalana Chitra with Real Star Srihari in the lead, Smt Suhasini, Shamna, Aiswarya and Rajita in lead roles, had completed its shooting recently.

Speaking on the occasion, Srihari says, 'We chose a Malayalam super hit film 'Chintamani Cola Case' and made certain changes to suit the Telugu nativity. We too wish that the film would be a big hit in Telugu also.

The role would be a different character in my career. Generally, all my films will always have action. But this film has a lot of good sentiment. I am doing the role of an advocate who always fought in favour of women.

Vijayan, who is basically a fight master, turned a director. He moulded the film on the screen excellently like how good he choreographs the action scenes. After producing 'Hanumanthu' on our banner, we are again producing this film. We are planning to release the film on May 22.'

Surender Reddy has 'Aa' sentiment

Director Y Surender Reddy had prepared a fantastic subject and worked on it for about nine years. He narrated the story to several heroes and finally zeroed in on at Kalyanram. That film, 'Athanokkade' has become a blockbuster and changed the career of Kalyanram.

He was of the strong opinion that the first letter in that title 'Aa' brought him good luck and gave the title for his second film as 'Ashok'.

Now for his latest flick he chose the title 'Atithi'.

Both his earlier films earned him good name. The 'Aa' sentiment would definitely works for Surender Reddy, opine Film Nagar sources.

Athili Sathibabu LKG - One more laugh riot from EVV's direction

Being groomed in the school of Jandhyala, EVV Satyanarayana had grasped the art of making good comedy films and his films like Appula Appa Rao, Hello Brother and others were proved big hits and remained memorable films.

Very recently he had bagged a hit in the form of 'Kitakitalu' and this year again he chose the same hero again for his latest flick 'Attili Sattibabu'. In fact, the character has become very popular by Rajamouli and Raviteja through their film 'Vikramarkudu'. Right from the day one of shooting, the director cum producer assured that they are giving a total entertainer and they fulfilled their promise.

Attili Sattibabu (Allari Naresh) is the son of a philanthropist respected by all the villagers. He stays with his elder brother (Raghubabu) who is a drunkard, and the other (Sunil) is a gambler who always enjoys playing cards. Though Sattibabu is the youngest, he is intelligent and earns money by lending money to others in Attili but he hardly spends it for his family. He demands interest depending on the necessity of the borrowers. Besides money-lending, he also runs a tent house and a rice mill. His life ambition is to lend money to World Bank and collect interest. Sattibabu also has a sister (Srilata) who is the civic chief and her husband (Krishna Bhagawan) acts as extra constitutional authority and collects bribes.

Ammulu (Vidisha), daughter of a cook (LB Sriram), loves Sattibabu. But the latter wanted to marry a rich girl. When Ammulu reveals her love, Sattibabu refuses her. Meanwhile, Pranati (Kausha) starts a beauty parlour near his shop. Coming to know that Pranati earns Rs 5,000 per day, Sattibabu wants to marry her. When one of his workers (Duvvasi Mohan) gets electric shock, Sattibabu evades medical expenses. Irked over his behaviour, all the workers quite en masse. But Sattibabu did not care them.

After a few days he meets Pranati's her father (Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam), who puts a condition that he could marry Pranati by paying Rs 25 lakhs. Instead of paying dowry, he demands Kanya Sulkam as his daughter earns a lot. Sattibabu gets ready to pay the amount, but meets with an accident. No one comes forward to take him to doctor. But Ammulu admits him to a hospital. Pranati's father visits hospital and tells him that money is not the only thing in life but one should earn the love and affection from the people around him. Realising his foolishness, Sattibabu changes his attitude and starts donating everything he earned. Then Pranati agrees to marry him, but Sattibabu refuses her saying that he would marry Ammulu.

Naresh almost stepped into Rajendraprasad's shoes, who dished out several comedy films. Naresh improved a lot in his body language with perfect comedy timing. Vidisha had performed well, besides filling the glamour slot. Kausha also looked gorgeous. A song picturised in the backdrop of a stage show in Thailand was the highlight of the film. However, the film is quite a time-pass film and some scenes were looked stretched unnecessarily.

Moreover the climax became too short and was wrapped very quickly and hurriedly. The director made good use of present political scenario and other remarks on the construction of Fab City, Singapore Township, International Airport and Ring Road. These issues were highlighted exceptionally. The film is well recommended for view of the entire family only or entertainment

Cast: Allari Naresh, Vidisha, Kausha, Brahmanandam, Raghubabu, Sunil, Krishna Bhagawan, Ali, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Venumadhav, MS Narayana, LB Sriram, Mallikarjuna Rao, Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao, Duvvasi Mohan, Chalapati Rao, Srinivasa Reddy, Lakshmipati, Raghava, Uttej, Kadambari Kiran, Babu Mohan, Satya Krishnan, Bhargavi, Abhinayasri, Archana and Srilata and others.
